Online quizzes are everywhere, but they don’t always feel like a two-way conversation. Interact has always made it easy to create quizzes, but we saw an opportunity to take it further…turning passive interactions into more meaningful experiences. By refining the product experience, optimizing workflows, and rethinking how users connect through quizzes, we made Interact more than just a quiz tool. Now, it’s a platform that helps people start real conversations.

The Problem

Traditional online quizzes are good for gathering data, but they often miss the chance to create real connections. When we looked at the research, we saw this gap between what existing quiz tools could do and what people really wanted - a more interactive, conversation-driven experience.

User Insights

The research showed that while these business owners were focused on scaling, they were stuck spending too much time on one-on-one client work. They needed a way to grow their audience and increase revenue without adding more to their plate. Keeping this in mind, we shaped the product to be intuitive, efficient, and actually useful for their day-to-day.

Competitive Analysis

We also took a close look at platforms like Typeform, Leadpages, and Outgrow to see where they were missing the mark. While they provided audience insights, they felt impersonal and data-heavy. Many lacked strong storytelling and engagement features, making it harder for businesses to build real connections with their audience.

Design Decisions

A new component library streamlined design consistency and sped up development, while infographics and other educational visuals helped simplify complex concepts, making the platform even more accessible and user-friendly.

Later, I helped design an onboarding quiz that felt more on-brand, interactive, and fun.

I also created hundreds of templates for marketing, ads, promotions, events, and campaigns, making it easier for users to launch high-converting quizzes.

Collaboration

I helped bridge marketing and development while working closely with leadership. I collaborated with the founders to align brand strategy with business goals that shaped our design system with some limitations of not changing too much of the existing branding (same logo, keep some colors, same body font).

With a small development team and limited resources, we focused on streamlining workflows, refining messaging, and enhancing the product & web experience.

Through Zoom meetings, Slack updates, and a Notion dashboard, I stayed close with leadership, marketing, and product teams for strategy, design, and execution.

The Impact

By shifting quizzes from basic data collection to real conversations, we saw major engagement improvements. Social channels grew by over 200%, and refining the email strategy turned a mostly inactive list into a community with a 10% increase actively engaging and sharing. A new newsletter improved open rates by 15%, while website updates led to increased engagement and higher sign-ups.
